TU-WIEN (Vienna University of Technology) and in particular the Energy Economics Group has a large experience in the analysis of building stock and definition of market trends and scenarios and they will have a key-role in the project. Tu-Wien is the coordinator of ZEBRA2020 and has the lead in developing recommendations to accelerate the market transition towards nZEBs. These recommendations on policy measures aim to encourage best practices as regards the cost-effective transformation of existing building into nZEBs.

Enerdata is a consulting company involved in energy data, energy efficiency and world energy markets. Its experts are in particular specialized in the assessment of energy demand and energy saving potentials, and the monitoring of energy efficiency performance at country level. In the framework of Zebra, Enerdata will be involved in the development of databases and online data tools.

The International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE) is an autonomous research and development centre, created by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 1987 under the auspices of the UNESCO, and dedicated to promoting and fostering advances in the development and application of numerical methods and computational techniques for the solution of engineering problems in an international context. Within CIMNE, the Buildings Energy and Environment (BEE) Group is an independent research group of researchers, focusing their R&D activities on de-risking energy services, smart urban environments, customers’ empowerment, energy Positive living, real energy use in buildings and small and medium scale bio digesters.

The Buildings Performance Institute Europe (BPIE) is a European not-for-profit research and think-tank, in operation since 2010 in Brussels. BPIE works together with policy makers to help evidence-based impactful policy making by providing data and knowledge through its Data Hub, an open data portal on Europe’s building stock and information on policies and regulations which aim to reduce energy consumption. BPIE’s mission is to improve the energy performance of buildings by:
- Supporting the development of ambitious – yet pragmatic – buildings-related policies and programs at EU and member state level
- Driving timely and efficient implementation by teaming-up with relevant stakeholders
- Providing fact-based analysis and knowledge, and sharing best practice globally through its network
BPIE is ZEBRA2020 communications leader and will be involved in disseminating information about the project itself and the results amongst the targeted audience and beyond.

National Energy Conservation Agency (NAPE) is a Polish energy consulting company specialising in energy auditing and certification of buildings. In the project, NAPE coordinates a survey-based study on drivers for market transition and the role of Energy Performance Certificates, elaboration of a database on EPCs, and implements the project in Poland, involving the building industry and policy makers.

EURAC is a private no-profit research and training centre sited in Bolzano. The Institute for Renewable Energy conducts applied research in the field of Solar Energy and Energy in Buildings. The activities include National and International Research Projects and direct cooperation with industry partners. Its role within ZEBRA2020 is to monitor the current market activities towards nZEB identifying the gap between targets and progress up to now.
